When you think of California, you might picture sunny beaches, stucco homes and palm trees, but did you know that California is also home to a wide array of beautiful mountain communities where log homes, pine and aspen trees, and laid-back lifestyles are the norm? Here at Prolog Restoration, we’re lucky to have clients throughout the state of California who trust us for restoring, repairing and building the log homes and structures they love. From great lodges in the north to cozy weekend getaways in the south, we get to see it all. And so we decided to share some of those great communities with you.
Two of our favorite Southern California spots for log home living are Pine Mountain Club and Frazier Park. Often called a secret mountain paradise, they are located only a little over an hour away from Los Angeles and one hour south of Bakersfield. Pine Mountain Club and Frazier Park are adjoining mountain communities surrounded by 1.7 million acres of mountains and forests. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy exploring and experiencing rare sites including the California condor along with bears, mountain lions, coyotes, deer, hawks, owls and more. Adventure is always around the corner with endless scenic trails for hiking, mountain biking, and off-road vehicles as well as streams, campsites, and cross-country skiing in winter.
We’re not the only ones who think this area is great. The community is filled with beautiful log homes and friendly residents, some who live there year-round while others enjoy vacation homes as often as they can. In fact, Log Home Living Magazine has featured Pine Mountain Club cabins as some of their favorite in the nation.
Pine Mountain Club and Frazier Park offer other recreation opportunities including a PGA-rated 9-hole golf course, swimming pool, tennis courts and equestrian center. In town, a village center with retail stores, restaurants, and a park with a playground offer convenience in an Alpine setting. Special events include the Lilac Festival, Run to the Pines Car Show, Wine in the Pines, and the annual annual Holiday Faire and Festival of Lights Parade.
Oh, and here’s a fun fact: Frazier Park was also used in filming for The Waltons television show.
Pine Mountain Club and Frazier Park properties include a large amount of log homes and structures. If you decide to purchase a home in the area, or already own one and would like an appraisal of how your log home is holding up to the high mountain elements, tips for maintenance, or general advice for keeping your cabin in good condition, call or email our California log home restoration experts at 877-477-6564.
